Wessex Deanery Update

The design for the website was completed by the interns over the summer and this will continue to be progressed with the help of our developer.
There are now more than 60 completed questions with extensive feedback available in the question bank, with a further 65 partially completed and being worked on.

Installation of Minibix for Wessex Deanery Question Bank

Finlay, Minibix has been installed on the virtual machine for Wessex Deanery Question Bank. The installation took a bit longer (: than expected (4 days instead of 1 hour) due to two problems:
1. Building Minibix: Minibix installation stopped half way through.
2. Tomcat failed to start Minibix’s war files.

QTI Engine on Android

JQTI library has been compiled on Android platform. Based on the library, the mobile version QTI-playr was built. There are three type of interactions was implemented including Text Entry Interaction, Choice Interaction and Hot Text Interaction. Due to Android not supporting Java applet, some interactions such as Graphic Gap Match Interaction etc. [...]

Assembly

Following our previous proposal to external contacts (inc contacts at Cambridge, Plymouth, Coventry and Reading) on having an assembly, we will be continuing to try and find a suitable date in august.

Update: Collecting Information from the Schools, Testing and Evaluation

This is a short update to note that, in addition to everything else I’ve mentioned in previous postings I’ve also been:
- working on collecting the information we have identified as important, from the schools. This includes the personas and scenarios for the existing use of technology, the course aims, the lecturers’ reactions and the lecturers’ [...]

Interns

This week, 3 interns (ECS undergrads) have started work on the EASiHE project for 12 weeks over the summer break.  They will be initially working on the website for the Wessex Deanery.

EASiHE Update

The EASiHE team have now co-designed a formative eAssessment, and made a prototype available, with each of the two academic schools I am working with at the University of Southampton. This has involved working closely with academics in both schools.
