A quick update on the website…

I just wanted to post a quick update on the website. I have now finished most of the pages, although there are still a few that I’m working on, and will hopefully have these finished in the next couple of weeks. You may see that there are now a lot more documents online, this was initially needed for the final report to JISC, but I hope that this will provide useful to visitors to the site as well.
Please let me know if there is anything else that I should add (or if you spot a mistake!)

Southampton and the new website…

On Wednesday 10th Feb, I attended a Project Assembly at Southampton for thee-Assessment in Higher Education (EASiHE) project. During the day we explored Higher Learning Objectives, and how these can be tested using multiple choice type questions, with the attendees drawing up a list of Do’s and Don’ts, which will be incorporated into a booklet being produced by the project (I’ll let the team know when I receive this!).
We are also re-developing the current ASSET website, adding new sections and content about the progress of the pilots, staff and students thoughts about using video for feedback, and the out puts of the project so far….if you have any ideas/suggestions please let me know!

Quick Update

Hi Everyone! I just thought I should post a quick update to let you all know what’s been going on the last few weeks…. firstly we are running our last two staff focus groups (we had one today and have one tomorrow), although we will be having meetings with other staff members who were unable to attend. we have also sent out the staff post-use survey – so will hopefully have this data available soon!Secondly we have now sent out the student post-use survey (this was sent yesterday), and we have also sent out an invite to students to attend a focus group in mid-February. So hopefully we will soon have the data we need to assess both Staff and Student enagaemnt with the resource (and video feedback)!

Birmingham meeting

Great that Karsten will be there as Holger is coming too and perhaps they can talk techie together ;o) I have found a really useful source of student work that has been marked up by assessors and we are currently making videos of this material. My BR work is obviously on a small scale so it would be good to tag along with your presentation and we could contribute some of the videos we’re producing which you can use eventually anyway.

Well done!

Sorry gang to let you down but I was with you in spirit – I was looking at the wonderful programme for the day as I sat forlorn at home. Ironically, the snow wasn’t too bad around Plymouth itself but was between Plymouth and Bristol. However, I won’t be kept down for long and the good news is that I’ve rescheduled by meetings so I can now attend the JISC event at the end of the month – so will see Anne and Julian, at least.Well done on running a successful workshop and would love to see the materials that will come from it.

Presentation of perceptions of feedback

Dear All,I was at a conference recently and this paper was on the programme – the presentation has just been made available and I post it here for reference.Stephen

Quick update

Over the past few weeks, the pilots have started, and we have been busy making sure the resource is working and that staff and students can access it. The ASSET website is currently being updated with more information about the project, and we will soon have videos available.

Update

With only a few days until Freshers week (and just over a week until the start of the Autumn term) we have been busy making the final arrangements for the start of the pilot.Karsten has been bust going out to our 5 pilot schools installing webcams and having a quick run through of the software with the staff. During this, we have had other members of staff come forward wanting to join the pilot, increasing staff numbers to nearly 30.This week we will also be sending out the questionnaires for students, and so in the coming weeks we will be busy starting our analysis of the pre-use data for both staff and students.
